DIY | Workout Tank with Old T-shirt

Here is a quick way to turn an old t-shirt into a more cute, sexy, and breathable workout tank top.
This style allows you to show a pop of color if you’re like me and enjoy bright/neon colored sports bras.
Materials needed:
- any t-shirt
- sharp sheers/scissors
All you have to do is cut the sleeves off and bring the cut as low as you please. (video tutorial here)
I personally like the cut to fall around the smallest area of my waist; that way it’s nice and breathable, shows part of the sports bra, but doesn’t show too much excess skin.

That is the general idea — extremely simple, right?
There are many variations you can try out:
* cut a deep v-neck
* cut a racerback shape in the back
* cut the bottom of the tee so it’s more cropped/fitting
* cut the bottom front of the tee for a high-low style

Have fun!

  4. Do your shirts get ruined in the wash after you cut them? I'm just wondering :D

    1. So far all my shirts have not been ruined in the wash after I cut them up - the edges may "roll in" a bit, but my shirts haven't frayed or fallen apart : )
      On the other hand, when I cut up sweatpants to turn into shorts and washed them, they started to fray a lot. So I think it really depends on what material it is! Hope this helps!

  5. That’s a fantastic DIY for the tank top. I have a lot of old tees and I think you gave an amazing idea to make use of them. Thanks a lot for sharing this post. I would love to share this post with all my friends. Keep posting such DIYs. I really like the one you are wearing.

  6. Do you want to avoid sweat when you work in the heavy sun? Then I'll recommend you to wear moisture-wicking t-shirts. Because when you wear moisture-wicking t-shirts, the liquid quickly moves to the outer layer of the garment, where it will dry quickly instead of saturating the fabric.
